Description


Dorsal spines (total): 12 - 14; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9 - 11; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 5 - 6; Vertebrae: 24 - 25. Distinguished from all other species of Nandus by its deep dorsal head profile and sharp snout, the presence of 37-42 lateral line scales interrupted at the 24th-27th lateral line scale and the presence of relatively large serrae on the preopercle.
